Laundry Senior Aide Jobs in Ontario

Knowledge/experience in commercial laundry procedures and ability to meet physical requirements of the job

To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it;

Strong oral and written English communication skills

Demonstrated knowledge of proper linen care and stain removal

To assist in the collection and sorting of soiled personal clothing and linens and pre- treat stains as required;

To inspect soiled linens or personal laundry and complete any required repairs, e.g. rips, tears, buttons;

Participates in company meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs.

Using specified cleaning/ disinfecting/sanitizing agents, and following specific procedures, work patterns, and routines, performs tasks such as:

Ensures privacy of residents during performance of duties.

Adheres to established company policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire, and safety.

Performs outside work such as removal of light snow, sanding and salting as required.

Cooperates with other departments in such tasks as transferring residents, moving and storing supplies, furniture and equipment.

Knowledge related to infection control, cleaning practices, housekeeping operations and equipment.

Previous experience in Institutional Cleaning/Laundry in Long Term Care or Retirement Residence is desirable.

Providing clothing and linen support services by ensuring collection, distribution, processing and inventory of linens and personal clothing.

Sorting linens, loading and unloading washers and dryers, ironing and mending as required.

Folding, sorting and loading linen and clothing onto carts for distribution and delivery and auditing linen for labels and repairs.

Discarding and recording inappropriate inventory when necessary.

Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs.

Basic understanding of washer and dryer operations and some knowledge of chemicals used in process preferred.

Adheres to established department policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment and infection control.

Frequent standing, walking, squatting, reaching and lifting of heavy soiled linens but in controlled amounts or with assistance.

Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.

Ability to read and write English and follow simple verbal and written instructions in English.

Participates in facility meetings as assigned. Attends in-service education programs.

Basic understanding of washer and dryer operations and some knowledge of chemicals used in process preferred.

Adheres to established department policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, environment and infection control.

Frequent standing, walking, squatting, reaching and lifting of heavy soiled linens but in controlled amounts or with assistance.

Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.

Ability to read and write English and follow simple verbal and written instructions in English.

Attends education sessions, meetings, and workshops.

Grade 10 or equivalent education is required

Previous experience in a housekeeping laundry role is preferred

Must have effective oral and written communication skills
