Provides programming and facilitates group workshops (e.g. organizing, safety plans, anger management);
Applies the knowledge of the issues of trauma and the dynamics of woman abuse to develop and implement effective support strategies;
Offers clients appointment accompaniment (e.g. court), crisis intervention, supportive counselling, referrals and advocacy;
Working knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act;
Knowledge of harm reduction strategies and training in administering naloxone an asset
Landlord And Housing Retention Support Worker

Post-secondary degree/certification in Social Services with experience in housing and community development – or a combination of education and experience
Knowledge of housing bi-law and zoning requirements
Work with landlords to ensure their units comply with bi-law and zoning requirements
Assist tenants in retaining their housing by offering resources and referrals to address their immediate needs
Organize and manage Opening Doors Program evaluation processes
Conduct regular check in’s with clients in the Opening Doors Program to ensure that their tenant responsibilities are being met
