Journeyperson And Apprentice Electrician Jobs

Must have direct experience installing and maintaining:

Must have skills to help train new employees and apprentices

Minimum 7 years’ experience in an underground mining environment

Must be capable of reading & understanding electrical drawings

Provides support and takes direction from Journeyman Electrician.

Reads, interpret, and execute drawings and schematics.

Installs, repairs, or replaces motors, transformers, starters, relays, and starters.

Installs, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring, switch boxes, conduits, lighting, etc.

Installs, repairs, or replaces generators and industrial storage batteries.

Valid class 5 driver’s license.

$36-39/ hour (depending on experience and license)

Experience with medium and high voltage terminations

Solar training and/or solar installation certification (SAIT, NAIT, NABCEP, SEI, etc)

Solar installation experience – Commercial and Industrial projects

Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a PSE/Electrician with at least 2 years of experience working in substations required

Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office and computer-based test equipment would be an asset

Must meet pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing requirements

Able to travel including travelling to remote sites.

Assist in the day to day activities involved with substation construction

Install time sensitive network and power cabling, including connection, location and documentation of all circuits, as required

Perform preventive equipment maintenance; scheduled, unscheduled and emergency requests

Perform maintenance, predictive inspections and testing on substation equipment

Minimum of grade 12 education – college education in electrical program preferred

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Good communication and interpersonal skills required (fluent English writing and communication skills)

Experience with residential construction is an asset but not required

Must be a Journeyperson Electrician

Full understanding of Canadian and Provincial Electrical codes and compliance

Attention to safety, attitude for success and working toward having a mix of technical skills, work experience and academic skill
