Assist in the improvement & development of management system procedures and forms, in line with applicable standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

Ensure completion of regular site inspection reports from field management; note resolution to any deficiencies or actions taken on the report.

Assist in the administration, documentation and management of the Company’s COR program.

Keep management current on the status of any issue(s) that may impact on the work being performed.

At least 5 years of field safety experience, preferably in a construction environment.

Relevant Post-Secondary education in HSE is an asset.

Maintain statistics and records and monitor accident/incident frequencies and safety violations; assist in investigations and complete related documentation.

Positive relationship building and management skills

Assist Supervisors and Managers with the application of the HSE system requirements.

Strong communication skills - experience in training, giving presentations and writing reports.

Maintain contractor lists and qualification.

Minimum 3 years of Health and Safety experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, preferably in the plastic industry.

Must be adaptable and able to gain knowledge required to perform functions in a professional manner.

Experience working with safety management system, environmental management systems, and lean manufacturing.

Oversee the management and response to any spills or other environmental incidents.

Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, legislation and compliance.

Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities.

Return to Work (RTW) qualification and experience

Ensure health and safety (including environment) requirements are maintained in accordance with relevant statutory legislation and company policies and procedures.
