High Voltage Field Service Technician Jobs

Extensive Linesperson experience and knowledge

Experience with overhead, underground distribution systems, substations and switchgear

First Aid, CPR and National High Voltage Switching Operator certifications are desirable, but not essential

Maintaining, repairing, and performing fault finding diagnosis on High Voltage Distribution systems which includes but not limited to:

Carrying out overhead line feeder patrols

Identifying overhead network system faults

Must have a knowledge of and ability to interpret the Canadian Electric Code and Electrical Utility Code.

Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities

Good communication and reading skills.

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.

5 or more years of proven project management experience in a high voltage electrical role.

Report and escalate issues to management as required.

Negotiate additional work items with customers as approved by management.

Manage working relationship with clients, internal resources, and third parties such as vendors, subcontractors, ESA, and utilities.

Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in scope, schedule, and costs.

Familiar and experienced with substation installations and repairs

Must have a knowledge of and ability to interpret the Canadian Electric Code and Electrical Utility Code.

Journeyman Electrician and industry related safety certification

Experience in industrial electrical construction and maintenance

Knowledge/Experience using Doble M4100 to perform transformer diagnostic tests

Knowledge/Experience Testing Low Voltage Trip Unit

Knowledge/Experience of Testing Current and Potential Transformers

Knowledge/Experience of performing HV/MV Circuit Breaker Timing Tests

Co-ordinate sales efforts with Branch Manager, such as but not limited to, repeat business, quotations and customer contact.

Minimum of 5 years experience with high voltage testing, troubleshooting, maintenance and commissioning

Knowledge/Experience using Doble M4100 to perform transformer diagnostic tests
