Health Care Worker Jobs in Nova Scotia

Ability to demonstrate effective time management and disciplined self-organization

2 years' post BSW related clinical experience required

Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)

Previous experience working in adult community mental health preferred

Demonstrated experience with group facilitation

Demonstrated comfort and skills working collaboratively with community partners

Ability to demonstrate effective time management and disciplined self-organization

2 years related clinical experience required

Experience working in Mental Health and Addictions program an asset

Experience conducting brief Mental Health and Addictions assessments and suicide risk assessments an asset

Advanced psychotherapy skills; including in brief therapies

Two (2) years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker required

Knowledge of the fundamentals of human behaviour including systems theory, family dynamics, group dynamics, and theories of behaviour change

Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university

Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW

Awareness of local community resources and agencies would be an asset

Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to a reliable automobile

Experience facilitating education programs and group meetings

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook

Minimum two years of experience, preferably within a community based health-care setting

Recent, relevant experience working with community agencies/resources, volunteers and support groups

Demonstrated ability in applying new and innovative technologies and strategies for education and patient counselling

Manages time and resources, implementing activities to promote cooperation among relevant others, collaboration across disciplines and related activities

Two (2) years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker required

Strong counselling and communication skills

Master's Degree in Social Work from a recognized university

Registered or eligible for registration with the NSCSW

Capacity to achieve a high degree of autonomous practice

Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team context

Experience facilitating education programs and group meetings

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook

Minimum two years of experience as a registered Social Worker, preferably within a community based health-care setting

Demonstrates high degrees of independent decision making, self-direction, motivation, change management knowledge and team building/leadership skills

Previous leadership/management experience an asset

Three to five years of clinical experience

Must be registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia

Requires a high level of sound judgement, initiative, and self-direction

Capable of analytical and creative decision making
