Compensation: $70,000 - $83,000, based on experience and qualifications. FVGC offers generous health, dental, and wellness benefits.

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience required.

Experience in the agriculture/association space is an asset.

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, economics, management or a related discipline; master’s degree or MBA is beneficial

Build and deepen partnerships with post-secondary education sector stakeholders

Develop high quality proposals, RFP qualification documents, presentations and research

Identify, build, leverage and win new opportunities to drive enhanced stakeholder benefit

Present and share knowledge on developments and trends gained through media scanning and events

Independently drive and manage initiatives attuned to timelines and competing priorities

Experience providing executive-level advice to a Board of Directors or senior management

Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively run multiple concurrent projects and set priorities within tight timelines

Post-secondary degree in political science, public affairs and policy management, communications or a related field

Decision Making: Ability to know when decisions can be made independently and when they require consultation with senior management

Manage the relationship with SAC-OSLA volunteers dedicated to specific advocacy portfolios.

Sound knowledge of the Canadian political system and policy development process at a federal, provincial and territorial level

Requires experience working with management teams and senior executives.

Represent corporate communications and the community relations viewpoints in discussions of local project requirements and strategies to address issues.

Requires a knowledge of corporate communications specializing in public affairs and consultation to evaluate and interpret trends and public opinion patterns.

Requires experience in influencing and managing relationships with elected officials (provincial and municipal) in Ontario, community groups, and stakeholders.

Requires experience with municipal and provincial politics and associated legislative frameworks.

Requires experience managing sensitive issues in an often highly charged, political/environment.

Manage relationships with government relations agencies, ensuring timely and appropriate completion of assigned work

Post secondary education in a related field such as law, government relations or similar

Strong government and public relations acumen, including deep knowledge of various levels of government

Proven experience in developing and implementing government relations, public relations and media relations plans

Superior relationship building skills with both external and internal stakeholders

Strong communications skills, both written and verbal. French – English bilingualism is an asset

Effective time management and organizational skills

Assist with data entry and tracking, and maintain data integrity

Demonstrated working knowledge of corporate policy specific principles

Effective customer service skills and communication skills

Respond to customer inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services, and escalates to appropriate City staff as required

Assist and collaborate on sectional programs and special projects

7+ years of progressive experience in government relations, stakeholder management and legislative support either for engagement with Government or within Government;

Oversee compliance with federal and provincial lobbying requirements, including monthly communication reports;

Knowledge of government relations strategies and approaches;

Exceptional knowledge of public policy, programs and legislation at all three levels of government impacting Ontario Universities;

Deep knowledge of government granting processes and cycles;

Knowledge of Provincial and Federal legislation and regulatory processes as well as public and industry consultative processes;

Excellent understanding and experience in financial and resource management, reporting, forecasting, planning project and project portfolio management.

Experience with change management, process mapping with strong business acumen

Conduct special studies for Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

Prepares financial briefs or material for the President and other Senior Management in their dealings with internal and external officials.

Knowledge and understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada initiatives, the Broadcasting Act, policies and procedures (i.e. Human Resources and Finance & Administration).

Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project, supported by practical experience. Experience with SAP software is an asset.

Liaising with clients as part of ongoing project management responsibilities

A solid mix of project management, policy analysis and communications experience

Skilled in priority-setting, efficient time-management and the ability to work independently

Lead project management, including designing project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, managing unexpected changes, and mitigating risks

Degree in political science, public policy, economics, communications or a related field (or equivalent experience); post-graduate qualifications are beneficial

Proven track record of client service excellence (previous consulting experience OR deep sectoral knowledge/specialized expertise is an asset)

Time management, organizational, analytical, research and presentation skills.

Excellent ability to manage significant issues which attract political/media/community attention through sound issues management techniques and ability to manage diverse relationships.

3-5 years government relations, public relations, volunteer/community liaison experience preferably in the public sector.

Proven experience in government relations, public policy development, strategy.

Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to foster trust, cooperation and collaboration.

Knowledge of legislation and awareness of current social, economic and sound political acumen is an asset.
