Work with Project Managers, and representatives from various faculties/departments on campus to understand business requirements

In conjunction with the Project Manager, develop a list of resources required to deliver the technical design

In conjunction with the Project Manager, negotiate with functional managers across IT to obtain access to any additional technical resources required

Ensure all system designs are delivered in a timely manner, based upon the Project Manager's schedule

Working in conjunction with IT Architecture, develop long-term strategic directions for IT's technical solutions and design offerings

Experience as a computer programmer is usually required.

Certification or training provided by software vendors may be required by some employers.

Design, develop, test, implement and oversee IT systems

Collect and analyze data to identify areas for improvement within an organizations IT infrastructure

Review existing IT systems and internal processes

Develop quality assurance procedures and tests for the development and improvement of new and existing systems

Participate in department projects and initiatives; provide input, support research, manage assigned tasks, deliverables and timelines

Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a GIS Technician Role

Detailed knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro), various GIS file types, FME and Global Mapper

Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with the proven track record to handle multiple tasks concurrently and effectively

Experience in upstream Oil and Gas, preferably British Columbia is an asset

Flexible arrangement options including working from home and a compressed work week with Friday afternoons off (office-based roles)
