Directional Drill Operator Jobs

Have experience working in the field, in remote and/or varied weather conditions for extended periods of time.

Having 1-3 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling is considered an asset.

Continuously prepare and supply the driller with tooling and materials necessary to maintain the drilling operations.

Handle drill rods and casing, core tubes and core samples.

Maintain and organize appropriate inventory levels of necessary materials, supplies and tooling for the drill rig and support vehicles.

Assist the Driller, client and other team members where required.

Work with Mine Manager to improve the Drill and Blast activities and meet legal requirements.

Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills.

Coordinate with Mine Manager and engineering to ensure that all D&B priorities are followed according to the plan.

Will work principally in the field with some office requirements.

BC Blaster Certification OR a Provisional BC Blaster License (3rd Class, 2nd Class, or 1st Class) AND

5 years' blaster experience in an open-pit mining environment preferred

A minimum of 3 years of related experience

Pay of $80000 - $115000 / year

Monday - Friday Shift Schedule

Providing daily technical support in the field

Providing guidance in proper equipment operation

Must possess basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication, division

Loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, tool changes, simple program edits

Operating overhead cranes & hoist systems safely

Will train in house for this position

Must be willing to work shift work on a rotational basis.

5 or more years of experience operating manual, remote and/or autonomous drilling rigs in an open pit mining environment.

Continually seek to improve your skills as a Drill Operator.

Experience operating SmartROC D65 drills or Epiroc Pit Viper 231 drills is required.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)

Sound knowledge of open pit mining fundamentals and autonomous mining operations.

Practical and hands on experience with open pit production drilling.

- Grade 12 or equivalent education

- Experience operating Digi-Trak F5 locating system an asset

- Experience operating Ditch Witch JT4020 drill an asset

- Strong English verbal and written communication skills

Wage is negotiable and will be based on experience.

- Completing horizontal directional drilling projects within multiple industries (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, etc.)
