• Minimum 3 years management experience.

• Excellent people management and leadership abilities: scheduling, training, mentorship, accountability, succession planning.

• Demonstrated relationship management skills and the ability to build friendly rapport with co-workers, suppliers, and members.

• Education, experience, and training in food service operations.

• Experience utilizing point of sale (POS) software such as SMS and Ishida scales.

• Strong verbal and written communication and excellent listening skills.

5+ years Deli management experience required, knowledge of achieving profitability

Knowledge of fundamental management concepts, practices and procedures related to food service, merchandising and retail operations

What Skills, Competencies and Experience Does the Deli Manager Possess?

Culinary Arts or business management degree preferred

Knowledge of production including product preparation, handling and sanitation procedures, Food Safe certification

Excellent organization skill and ability to multi-task and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

5+ years of management experience in a grocery service environment

Manage orders, inventory and shrink management

Physical Requirements are required as a Manager in IGA

Consistently deliver excellent service experience for both internal and external customers

Hire, train, manage and motivate a team to ensure efficiency and productivity

5+ years of experience in a Deli or related field

Manage direct reports including: selection, orientation, training and development, performance management, succession planning and compensation

Full knowledge of department operations and skills

Full knowledge of total store operations and skills

Communicate operational requirements/changes to department employees

Manage store operations as required

Create a shopping experience that engages customers in a way that enhances loyalty, sales, and profit
