Must strictly follow all guidelines pertaining to Cook Chill production;

Complies with Jewish dietary laws as determined by the Simkin Centre;

Deliver exemplary housekeeping services within resident suites, amenity spaces and common/administrative areas

Responsible for completing a variety of housekeeping, laundry and/or food service functions

Demonstrate a solid understanding of the intent and philosophy of complex care when planning and delivering hospitality services

Grade 12 minimum education required.

Two years’ experience in volume food preparation, catering and special events preparation.

Experience in large quantity food preparation and cooking in Health, Long Term Care, or Retirement Residence is preferred.

Permanent Casual - 6:00AM - 2PM or 10am - 6PM

Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation.

Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes and other menu document as provided.

Completion of a culinary arts program or an equivalent combination of education and experience combined.

Attend work as scheduled, give sufficient notice for absences to Food Services Manager.

Ensures smooth operation of kitchen services during absence of Food Services Manager.

Help to ensure that food deliveries have been delivered and stored according to the standards set by the Food Services Manager.

Maintain up to date Food Safe Certification.

Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.

Must be knowledgeable of the Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating

To prepare and/or be responsible for the preparation/delivery of all foods for residents, guests and employees;

To review menus and production sheets before preparing meals and prepare and serve them properly and attractively;

At least 6 months of experience as a waiter/waitress in a dining environment

Performs meal service as required relating to beverage and meal service, plating of food, clearing and cleaning of dining rooms etc.

Assists residents with menu selection as required and serves food and beverages to residents in designated areas

Responsible for the setting, clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing of resident dining and service areas

Collects and strips trays for dish washing

Conveys residents’ complaints to Dietary Supervisor

Graduate of a recognized Unit Clerk Program or equivalent education and training

Responsible for quality indicators data entry as well as census information, submission and required follow up

Preference will be given to those experienced with Point Click Care, PIR and RAI

Excellent English language skills, both oral and written

Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Word and Excel

Provide accurate and efficient electronic records set up, chart thinning as well as managing discharged records
