Identify, document and support the design of strong, mitigating controls in accordance with the Legal requirements

8+ years in the compliance industry, ideally with experience in payments compliance

Operational knowledge in building a sound compliance program

Partner with Product and Regulatory Counsel to understand the Legal obligations associated with new products and features

Be embedded with Product partners, understand their strategic vision, and provide strategic compliance advice and support

Identify product gaps in controls and collaborate on compliant remediation plans

Support risk management activities in Canadian P&BB Business Units i.e. issue management, control documentation, reporting

Exposure to Risk Management, Audit, Compliance or Operational Risk

3-5+ years of experience working in Banking Compliance, specifically in Personal and Commercial banking realms

Previous experience in compliance or operational risk control testing

Detailed knowledge of the Bank Act and Consumer Protection regulations

Proven experience with testing - whether in operations, risk or compliance risk audit testing

Demonstrated and proven project management or coordination skills

Knowledge of US GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”), SOX regulatory requirements is an asset

Experience managing business process testing with a good understanding of ITGC’s and application controls

Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Strong influencing skills: ability to present points of view effectively and gain support for their position

Experience working with growing organizations with changing needs and multiple complex business transactions

Bachelor’s degree in a field such as Law, Business Management, Finance, etc.

Develop and maintain internal policies that drive adherence to consumer rights laws and regulations, including TCPA, state-specific, and other requirements

Able manage multiple projects simultaneously and willingness to quickly pivot into new tasks as needed

Pave the way by establishing our first, dedicated compliance function focused on our telemarketing activities

Establish reporting and ongoing monitoring to ensure proper strategic execution

Continuously assess the efficiency of policies and processes, ensuring the issues are surfaced and addressed in a timely manner

8-10+ years of project management/industry work experience ideal

Oversees strategies for risk and compliance project management.

Produces regular project reports and management updates.

Applies project and change management principles to project planning and operations.

Experience as a project and program manager is strongly preferred. PMP designation an asset

Specific experience and background in dealing with US, Canada and other countries’ regulatory requirements preferred
