Experience working with a broad range of populations and clients

Experience working within a harm reduction approach

Experience working in mental health and substance use disorders

Knowledge of the impact of social/cultural/economic factors on the determinants of health

Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills

Commitment to and knowledge of community-based health care

Ability to utilize sound judgment, good observation and assessment skills, tact and empathy

Ability to develop and integrate educational strategies and programs and teach using child/adult education principles

Ability to apply nursing process as required and described in BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards of Practice.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Ability to fact find, seek out information and/or resources

Ability to organize workload and set priorities
