Ideally 5+ years of field or construction related experience as contract administrator /inspector

Experience with municipal and land development construction projects; consulting experience an asset

Certifications for concrete, compaction and civil tests preferred

Associate's degree in a construction-related discipline or craft apprenticeship preferred

Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.

Minimum 2 years of civil construction experience

Minimum 2 years of experience overseeing project sites/civil crews is an asset

Working experience in earthworks and utility installation

Perform civil works coordination, inspections, and quantity measurement

Check grades and elevations of newly installed infrastructure

Monitor and coordinate contractor progress to ensure work is completed within construction schedule

⦁Management of project quantities and project records;

⦁Management & reporting of project outcomes;

⦁Must be strong in written and oral communications skills and well organized;

⦁Inspection of new infrastructure installations;

⦁Must be enrolled in, or have successfully completed, Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Technology program;

⦁Must be familiar with common construction practices, codes, and specifications for installation;

Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.

Certifications for concrete, compaction and civil tests preferred

Reviews schedule updates with regard to general construction logic, potential conflicts, and activities or deliveries falling behind schedule

Evaluates contractor proposals of remedial actions to correct schedule problems

Develops project construction punch lists for substantial and final completion

Coordinates with project engineer or startup specialists for process startups

Sound knowledge of quality control testing procedures regarding materials utilized in water, sewer and solid waste projects.
