Minimum 2 years’ experience as a hoe pack operator.

CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Valid Driver’s License (non GDL)

Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)

Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Must hold a valid III or IV Wastewater Treatment Licence in accordance with Regulation 129/04 under the Ontario Water Resources Act;

Must pass the mechanical comprehension test designated by the Corporation in order to be the successful candidate;

A Class I exam must be written prior to completion of one (1) year as an OIT, subject to exam availability;

Housekeeping duties including shoveling, sweeping, and cleaning in a harsh environment

Inspection and changing of crusher screens and dust collector bags

Testing for and identification of colour quality

Operation of hand tools, power tools and mobile equipment

High exposure to standing, climbing, crawling, lifting and material handling

Exposure to vibration, dust, weather extremes, confined spaces, heights and noise

Experience with SCADA, Maintenance Management Systems and Record Keeping would be an asset.

Upon fulfilling licensing requirements, assumes the duties and responsibilities of an Operator In Charge (OIC) as defined by O.Reg 129/04

Provide support for public education initiatives and tours as required.

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other applicable legislation and specifications.

A team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with other staff, contractors and stakeholders.

Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.

Closely manage byproducts trailer levels and coordinate pickups with hauling vendors

A valid Operator in Training (O.I.T) with some wastewater treatment experience considered an asset

Must have a current valid driver’s license. AZ or DZ license or related experience is an asset

Grade 12 Diploma (minimum level of education required for position);

1-2 years’ municipal or related experience

Demonstrated competency with heavy construction equipment including, but not limited to, backhoes, front-end loaders and sidewalk tractors;

DZ license in good standing with the Ministry of the Transportation;

Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience preferred.

Strong tree and shrub identification skills.

2 to 3 years manufacturing experience. Rendering experience is an asset

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1-year operating experience in industrial and/or municipal biological wastewater treatment.

Must be computer literate, specifically with Microsoft Office applications, and have data analysis skills.

$32.70 per hour plus overtime after 40 hours

Reporting to the Wastewater Supervisor, ensure the Dundas facility is in environmental regulatory compliance at all times.
