Completing proper documentation of required tasks and communicates concerns and high risk issues to immediate manager.

Minimum of two (2) years’ of related experience.

Sound knowledge of the fundamentals of the services of a maintenance department.

Sound knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment used in the Long Term Care Communities.

Experience in building trades and operations

Completing routine and preventative maintenance, repair of equipment, building mechanical and electrical systems.

3-5 years experience and/or knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry and heating and ventilation systems

Observe and monitor all areas of the facility for ongoing maintenance and servicing requirements and carries out repairs as required

Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Document and implement the preventative maintenance programs

Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs to equipment

Perform general maintenance and repairs to plumbing and electrical systems

Observes and monitors all areas of the facility for ongoing maintenance requirements and carries out preventative maintenance programs as directed.

Provides general assistance to skilled tradespersons such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, painters, etc., as required.

Maintains required records, reports, statistics, etc., in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

Responsible for effectively scheduling and supervising maintenance and repair work.

Assigns maintenance crew to specific tasks, supervises to ensure standards and safety rules are observed and maintained.

Supervises the Handyperson and Painters, prepares time and work schedules, staff training and performance appraisals.
