A major player in the Canadian market since its entry in 2001, ENERCON has its North American headquarters in Montreal, Quebec, multiple service stations from coast-to-coast and an accredited training and warehouse facility in Boucherville, Quebec. ENERCON has currently over 2 500 MW of installed capacity throughout eight provinces and territories in Canada.


ENERCON is currently seeking a Wind Turbine Technician (Industrial electrician) to join our service team based in Limoges, ON. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Service Technician will perform the following duties:

  • Follow ongoing training offered by ENERCON: health and safety (work and rescue at the height, confined space, electrical safety, etc.), maintenance technique and updating of work methods;
  • Assess hazards prior to work, plan a safe work sequence using available data;
  • Identify hazards in the vicinity of wind turbines and follow procedures in place for reportable incidents and close calls;
  • Tighten screws and tension parts using precision tools;
  • Inspect the exterior and interior of the blades of our wind turbines,
  • Write reports on work performed and equipment/materials used in the computer system via tablets and smart phones
  • Apply general, electrical and mechanical health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Inspect and maintain ENERCON vehicle prior to use;
  • Analyze and make logical deductions, find the source of a problem, propose potential solutions;
  • Travel regularly to assist other wind farms in the region or across Canada;
  • Run diagnostics, identify problems with electrical and mechanical systems and make necessary repairs or modifications;
  • Plan the work to be done and prepare the necessary tools, materials and equipment; Read and follow instructions to perform scheduled preventive maintenance;
  • Perform corrective maintenance, retrofit, equipment and software updates;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of existing Health and Safety programs
  • Perform all other daily duties in strict accordance with ENERCON quality and safety standards.
  • Complete preventive inspections inside and outside of control panels;


REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid driver's license
  • Available for overtime, weekend shifts on call and travel upon request.
  • Autonomous and analytical with good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Electromechanical, electrical or wind turbine maintenance college diploma program or other related training
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office)
  • Journeyman electrician certificate and red seal (an asset)
  • 0 to 6 years experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance


SKILLS

  • Knowledge of first-aid basics and practical rescue at height;
  • Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and industry standards.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and unit conversions;
  • Ability to operate medium voltage switchgears and to work on a transformer.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces in a safe manner;
  • Able to read schematics and drawings (electrical, hydraulic and engineering);
  • Awareness of electrical and mechanical safety standards;
  • Ability to read and apply work instruction manuals;
