Job Description
What You’ll Do


The Web Developer (.NET) will be an expert in using dynamic programming tools and languages that build web applications that are efficient, secure and function to set standards for Canadian Tire’s Retail Learning Platform. Your role will be to develop applications and test them on various browsers, enhancing and modifying them as necessary to ensure the best experience for the user.


In partnership with the Manager, the Web Developer is responsible for the timely delivery of projects by defining and coordinating work priorities with the Senior Developers.


  • Passionate about learning and sharing knowledge.
  • Investigate, review and recommend new emerging technologies and tools and communicate on technical issues with all stakeholders in a clear manner.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills
  • Proven ability to work with shifting priorities and with minimal supervision.
  • Act as an expert resource providing insight and recommendations based on business requirements of the project.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to clearly communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.


What You Bring


  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that meets coding standards and best practices. Experience with writing unit tests.
  • Highly proficient with the .NET Framework 4.0 and higher, .NET Core using C#.
  • 3+ years working experience in web application development.
  • Experience in SOAP web services and REST API’s, 3rd party API integration.
  • Test and debug code to ensure that applications are error-free and meet requirements. follow agile software development process.
  • Experience with cloud computing platform and services
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, OOPs concepts, design patterns and solid principles
  • Degree/diploma in computer science, web development or equivalent experience
  • Experience creating, optimizing, and debugging SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of web development frameworks (ASP.NET, MVC, Entity framework etc.)
  • Proficiency in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, Bootstrap, AJAX, and XML
  • Experience with front-end technologies as React, Node or Vue js.
  • Proven experience in versioning system (Bitbucket, Git)
