Volunteers are foundational to the running of the Toronto Railway Museum with only 4 staff and over 100 volunteers we welcome more than 60,000 visits to the museum annually.We have volunteer opportunities in Administration (Marketing, Accounting and HR), Operations (mini-train, construction, maintenance and security), Museology (curation, Exhibit development, research), communications (Writing, Publishing, photography, event planning), restoration and repairs. Qualifications

Qualifications vary by position but some of the general qualifications include

• Experiences, education or desire to learn in the areasof specialty for each of the roles
• An appreciation of the diverse stories of railway history, or at least the interest to learn
• Experience working with museum or heritage organizations a plus
• A focus on safety
• Good interpersonal skills – good team player, with strong communication skills
• Ability to work well in teams as well as ability to work independently from a home office depending on the roles and assignments.
