Job Description

Under the direction of the Urban Mobility Director, the incumbent participates in the department’s development and success through the activities for which he or she is responsible, with a view to supporting the offer of efficient, sustainable and accessible transportation options for residents. The main responsibilities include coordinating activities related to the delivery of public transit, on-demand transit, active transportation and paratransit services, as well as any other existing or future mobility services. The incumbent also plays an active role in implementing the urban mobility strategy for the City of Dieppe and in initiatives aimed at further developing mobility within the community.


Responsibilities

  • Produce the activity reports needed to assess and optimize processes and procedures, and make recommendations to his/her superior aimed at improving services
  • Perform any other urban mobility-related duties as assigned by the director
  • Coordinate the delivery of on-demand and paratransit services with service providers
  • Participate in the analysis of a range of data to ensure data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement of urban mobility services
  • Conduct research and analysis, provide advice, and keep up to date on best practices, policies, tools and the latest trends in urban mobility
  • Receive, sort and manage mobility service-related requests from the public
  • Provide front-line support to service providers related to on-demand and paratransit services
  • Maintain and compile mobility service-related statistics and data
  • Provide mobility advice and information to the general public
  • Maintain close ties with internal and external stakeholders related to on-demand and paratransit services
  • Coordinate the servicing and maintenance of urban mobility service vehicles with stakeholders
  • Participate in the preparation of agreements with partners and suppliers
  • Create performance-measurement and data-acquisition/management tools for mobility services, including public transit
  • Support the implementation of the urban mobility strategy in alignment with the City’s strategic plan
  • Coordinate special optimization and continuous-improvement projects
  • Participate in ad hoc assessments of residents’ urban mobility needs
  • Support the implementation and roll-out of the active transportation plan
  • Coordinate various transit-related sub-activities
  • Participate in the promotion of urban mobility in collaboration with the Communications Department
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and other departments to provide the support required for the delivery of on-demand and paratransit services
  • Participate in the identification of equipment needs and purchases to ensure that the inventory required for activities is obtained


Skills

  • Punctuality and regular attendance
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office suite software
  • Positive attitude with respect to the interests of the municipality and the community in general
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization and with various stakeholders

  • Strong command of French and English, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of the factors that influence user behaviour and travel patterns
  • Good past record of job performance


Qualifications

  • Class 5 driver’s licence or the ability to obtain one
  • Three (3) years' experience in the delivery of urban mobility services and programs would be an asset
  • Undergraduate university degree, preferably in engineering, administration or a related field (relevant training and experience in the field will be considered)
