Job Description
Description
Ready to join our purpose-driven team?
We’re on the hunt for a seasoned social media manager to lead a team of agile content creators and help shape our brand presence and storytelling across various social platforms. Reporting to the Director, Social Media & Employer Brand, the successful candidate will be a natural leader, able to coach and inspire their team, expertly navigate the complexities and competing priorities of a large-scale organization, provide strategic guidance to leaders, and ensure we’re delivering best-in-class creative content.
What we have to offer:
  • Industry-leading benefits, including $5,000 annually for mental health support as well as pension and share-matching options.
  • A flexible work environment: your role can be remote, hybrid or you can work entirely from one of our state-of-the-art offices. The choice is yours.
  • Competitive salary and annual performance bonus.
  • The equipment needed to work effectively no matter where you are, including a laptop, monitor and webcam.
  • Unlimited mobile data (pending your current contract with a mobile provider).
What you’ll be doing:
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the social media team: assessing new asks for support as they come in, helping the team prioritize their workload, hosting team meets, and reviewing / providing feedback on creative and copy.
  • Providing critical guidance on the social media response strategy during brand crises.
  • Supporting the team when needed in the creation of content using in-app tools, services like Canva and with the aid of our in-house design team.
  • Fostering a team culture of empathy, inclusion and recognition while providing ongoing coaching and mentorship to individual team members, providing them with the tools and support necessary to exceed in their roles.
  • Developing our ongoing social media channel strategy, leveraging industry insights to ensure our organic community continues to grow and engage with our content.
  • Continuously innovating by improving processes to drive team efficiency, testing new platform tools, and breaking creative boundaries.
  • Pro-actively establishing and maintaining strong relationships with our internal teams and agency partners, recognizing the critical role social media plays in meeting the objectives of teams from across the business.
  • Championing our vision for mobile-first, social-first creative: you’ll push teams and external partners to think differently about how we tell our stories online.
  • Identifying and capitalizing on trends as they happen to keep the brand relevant and drive audience engagement.
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
  • Flexibility with your time, understanding that social media needs can sometimes occur after office hours.
  • You’re comfortable presenting strategy and creative to key stakeholders and confident in navigating competing opinions.
  • A strong interest in analytics within the social and digital worlds, able to connect organic results to business outcomes.
  • Are highly proactive: you love bringing new ideas to table and identifying and correcting process gaps.
  • A strategic mindset: able to think big picture and deliver a clear vision for our channels moving forward.
  • The proven ability to balance competing interests: you are able to prioritize not only your time effectively, but also your team’s.
  • A strong knowledge of social media platforms from both a creative and technical perspective: you’re aware of the latest algorithm changes, trending music on TikTok and can navigate Meta’s Business Manager confidently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills: You love building strong, collaborative working relationships with your peers and partners.
What we’re looking for:
  • Minimum 6-8-years experience in a progressively senior marketing and or social media role. At least two years of experience managing a team.
  • Agency experience and experience working with content creators considered an asset.
  • Post-graduate certificate/diploma/degree in marketing, communications or social media.
