R&A Engineering (1997) Ltd is seeking aProfessional Engineer with minimum 5 years experienceto join our busy Vernon or Kamloops offices. The position will focus on engineering analysis, calculation packages, drawing checks and reviews.EGBC professional registration, or immediate eligibility for registration, with EGBC is required.

A qualified candidate must possess the following attributes:

· Strong understanding of technical structural engineering analysis with a focus on seismic design.

· Well developed knowledge in the design of all the structural materials including concrete, structural steel, wood, and some experience with masonry.

· Understanding of the role engineering designs play in the constructability of structures.

· Detail oriented approach to drawing checks and reviews to address constructability

· Desire to see the entire team succeed through continuous learning and mentorship.

Engineering knowledge and skills that will contribute to your success in this position include:

· A passion for structural engineering design

· Attention to detail in all aspects of professional work including calculations, drawing checks, communications, and information management.

· A practical approach to engineering with an understanding and respect for how designs will be constructed.

· Structural design experience in concrete, steel, wood frame and some masonry with solid understanding of seismic design concepts.

· Experience using REVIT, RISA, and WOODWORKS is an asset.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose correspondence and other written materials independently

· A very high level of organizational skill with the ability to engage with multiple projects simultaneously.

The applicant must have the willingness to:

· Conduct field work in large and complex sites

· Assist in the development of engineering scopes, costs, and schedules

· Quantify a design concept through detailed engineering analysis

· Work with drafting team to create structural drawings and specifications.

· Maintain professionalism throughout duration of projects, representing R&A Engineering at meetings and with clients.
