Structural Bim Technologist - Existing Buildings

What is the Opportunity?
Based in Toronto, the Structural Technologist will be involved in small and medium structural projects and assist in maintaining a high level of service for the Special Projects practice at Entuitive. This will entail working closely with the other service groups in the firm to ensure consistent, consolidated, and leading-edge service delivery.
This position will primarily be responsible for structural BIM modelling and CAD drawings development as well as project coordination for existing buildings projects in construction. You will be working collaboratively with the project team from initial evaluation through to construction completion. We would like to supplement our existing team with a self-motivated individual, with leadership skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
What will you do?

• Provide support in creation of standards and methods to further the strategic development of relevant BIM technologies
• Participate in the delivery of a consistently high level of service
• Actively participate in learning, reinforcing, and contributing to Entuitive’s one-company philosophy
• Structural BIM modelling and CAD drawing development and project coordination. Working in conjunction with the Project Principal, Project Engineer, and other members of the design team to complete projects of varying size and complexity from start to finish
• Working with the project team from initial evaluation through design to construction completion
• In our team environment, as workload requires, assist other Project CAD/BIM Technologists in completing work for their project deadlines
• Coordinate the varying responsibilities associated with managing and producing drawings for structural projects, including managing specific files and directories
• Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time

Requirements
What do you need to succeed?

• An applicable degree or diploma in architectural or engineering technology
• Previous experience working as a BIM modeler/CAD technologist at a Structural engineering firm considered a strong asset.
• Hands on CAD experience working on plans and details for new and/or existing buildings.
• Good working knowledge and experience of drawing/model setup, project sheet setup, details etc.
• Interest in applying new technology to support project processes
• Educational or work experience in drafting (specifically CAD), BIM modelling (Revit) and designing.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to work with people at all levels including project stakeholders and clients
• Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as current versions of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete, steel, wood, and masonry
• Previous CAD experience associated with the drafting of complicated reinforced concrete details, steel connection details and setup of existing record drawings scans/pdfs as backgrounds for new work will be considered as a strong asset.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis
• 5-10 years of related experience drafting, designing, and modeling
