Steel Construction Worker

We’re seeking a Steel Construction Worker who has similar values and can put their training to work on a variety of initiatives involving commercial, agricultural, and residential buildings. This person will be responsible for working on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with all national and local procedures, regulations, and codes. We’re searching for someone who strives to be the best and takes pride in the communities and properties we develop. With each project, the construction laborer will be counted on to uphold the standards of quality and innovation we’re known for.
What we’re looking for
- Structural Steel Erectors
- 1st level carpenters looking to get into the construction field
- Skilled trades and laborer's in the metal industry
- Pre-Eng. Building Erectors
- Cladders
- Steel construction Laborer's
Objectives of this role
- Function as part of a collaborative effort, and work closely with other team members and construction industry professionals
- Perform work safely by following all standards for performance
- Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications
- Utilize available resources to perform duties efficiently
- Participate in all aspects of construction projects, from foundation to finish work
Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate potential hazards and ensure day-to-day safety, and keep tools and equipment in good working condition
- Operate machinery according to project plans and specifications
- Complete projects and receive new-project instructions from construction manager or supervisor
- Prepare construction sites by digging, moving dirt, and compacting space
- Document and report work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions
- Load and unload materials, and identify and distribute them to appropriate locations
Required skills and qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or Equivalent Experience
- Willing to travel, Valid drivers’ license.
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Ability to perform physical labor
- Ability to work outdoors and at heights
Preferred skills and credentials
- Experience in metal industry / commercial buildings
- PPE training, CSTS certificate, WHMIS certificate, Fall Arrest Protection Training, Aerial lift and aerial work platform certificate
- Experience as a general laborer in the construction industry
- Familiarity with how to read blueprints
