THE ROLE


Fitness and Sports is critical to ensuring the physical and mental wellness of our military members. As a Sports Stores Technician, you’ll organize and manage all Fitness and Sports equipment stored in the Sports Stores Department. You’ll also be involved in the life cycling and purchasing of new equipment for the facility, according to established policies and regulations. On a daily basis, you will greet members and other staff while you issue and receive fitness and sports equipment as part of our equipment loan process. Perform minor repairs, maintenance and cleaning to the existing equipment and assist with inventory management. We welcome innovation and project suggestions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Sports Stores Department. You will use your expertise to maintain a high level of equipment readiness and liaise with management on all things fitness, sports and health related throughout our facilities.

Qualifications Needed


Education, Certifications and Licenses


High school diploma AND several years of experience in a related field


AND


Valid Driver’s License (Province)


Valid DND 404 Military Licence, as required


Valid Forklift Operators certification, an asset


Experience


In issuing sports equipment


In the preparation and maintenance of outdoor sports facilities


In equipment maintenance/scheduling


In loss prevention


In inventory control


In record keeping/invoicing


In event planning
