Job Description
Our client is looking for a skilled and dedicated Solar Farm Maintenance Engineer to join the renewable energy team in Norfolk. Based in Kettering, they are looking for an engineer who is located, and lives within a commutable distance of Norfolk. Being specialists in the renewable energy industry, they are looking for the engineer to have a strong background within the solar industry. Solar Maintenance Engineer Position Overview As a Solar Farm Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation, performance, and longevity of solar power generation facilities located in the Norfolk region. Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on solar panels, mounting structures, tracking systems, inverters, and other components of the solar farm. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, electrical issues, and system performance problems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Monitor system performance through data analysis and monitoring software, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as needed. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure that the solar farm is meeting performance targets, efficiency goals, and safety standards. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to order necessary replacement parts and ensure timely delivery. Develop and maintain comprehensive maintenance records, documenting all maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment upgrades. Solar Maintenance Engineer Position Requirements Proven experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of solar power generation systems, including solar panels, inverters, transformers, and electrical systems. Solid understanding of electrical and electronic principles, with the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when maintaining records and documentation. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Physical fitness and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
