Software Developer (Inspexion & Rbm)

Job Summary - Ottawa Ontario

Sciemetric delivers products that perform automated quality assurance measurements and defect reporting at manufacturing facilities around the world. The Software Developer will be responsible for maintaining embedded software products. In this role, you will leverage your exceptional programming skills to design and maintain the software tools our engineers and customers use to configure and perform these measurements.

Responsibilities

• Estimate effort for deliverables
• Repair Bay Manager (RBM)
• Support development activities for the following products:
• Design and implement new features and performance improvements based on functional specifications
• Implement and review quality assurance data such as automated unit testing and validation test reports
• Interact with customer support and application installation engineers to support end-customers
• Perform code reviews
• InspeXion
• Third-party gateways
• Instrument and debug the existing code using logs and field reports
• Required Qualifications

• Windows applications and services
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• C++
• Expertise in:
• C#
• Visual Studio
• Additional Desired Skills and Experience

The following skills are highly desirable for this position:

• Embedded programming experience (e.g., kernel drivers, FPGA, microcontrollers)
• Experience with SQL databases
• Good organization and planning skills
• Interpreted language experience (e.g. LabVIEW, Lua, MatLAB)
• Ability to learn and absorb new technologies quickly (self-learner)
• Experience with embedded operating systems (e.g. Linux, QNX)

• Sampling theory and data acquisition
• Industrial communications protocols (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA, etc.)
• Network TCIP/IP protocol, topology, and security
• Manufacturing processes and philosophies
