About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Social Worker will be responsible for developing and ensuring the systematic provision of a high quality and specialist clinical psychology services in the Cardiac Rehab Clinic. The Social Worker will function as a primary therapist within a multidisciplinary team. Engaging in research and program development, the Social Worker will be involved in the planning and evaluation of behavioural interventions within the services and assist with the transition of clients back to a healthy lifestyle.

About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Familiarity with clinical health psychology assessments and interventions is highly desirable
- Formal training and clinical experience conducting brief in-patient psychological assessments, psychological interventions and consultation
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) is required
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in program evaluation and clinical research would be an asset
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in formulating and implementing treatment plans
- Doctoral degree from a recognized, accredited program in Clinical Psychology with a strong clinical health psychology background, including a one-year accredited clinical pre-doctoral internship is required
- Familiarity with behavioral programming is highly desirable
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Self-directed in his/her practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team while dealing with challenging clinical situations
- A minimum of 2 years training and experience working in related area of practice is preferred
