Job Description

  • COLLECTIVE STAFFING: A pool of qualified candidates will be established for a one-year period and will be used to staff Social Media Officer positions of various tenures.
Note on working arrangements: Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position will require some physical presence at the NRC work location identified in the form of a hybrid work arrangement (a combination of working onsite and offsite).

Your Challenge
Help bring research to life and drive your career forward with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Canada's largest research and technology organization.
We are looking for Social Media Officers to support our Communications Branch. The Social Media Officers would be people who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
These positions will require a minimum of 40% presence at the NRC work location identified in the form of a hybrid work arrangement (a combination of working onsite and offsite).
As part of a group of communications professionals, you will provide support for a variety of communication activities, including the development of communications materials for social media and external communications activities.
You will contribute to interesting projects in an environment where teamwork, initiative, and creativity are nurtured.
You will also work closely with the different communications teams and networks across the NRC to deliver on the organisation’s communications priorities.

Education
A university degree in a communications-related area of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience
  • Recent* experience in planning and/or organizing and reporting for online campaigns and drafting social media plans and content.
  • Recent* experience in developing reports to analyze social media performance for various audiences including management and clients.
  • Recent experience means experience acquired through the performance of related activities within the last 12 months.
  • Recent* experience in coordinating and planning communications projects in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment.
  • Recent* experience in the use of social media best practices and emerging tools.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Recent* experience in using social media platforms, as well as posting, and using analytical tools professionally such as, but not limited to, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Hootsuite and Meltwater.

Relocation
Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.
Compensation
From $73,377 to $78,892 per annum.
In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
