The Opportunity

We are searching for an energetic and motivated individual who is passionate about all things social! The Social Media Marketing Specialist role will manage MIC’s social platforms, develop our online presence, and expand our content repertoire.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with the Marketing Specialist, the successful candidate will use their experience with video, graphic design, and social media to craft engaging content that will educate our followers and provide value to our audience. Success in this role will require a strong attention to detail, creativity, adaptability, and the ability to keep up with the ever-changing world of social media.

Role and Responsibilities

·Generate unique content tailored to the placement (timeline, story, reel) and platform (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).

·Utilize Sprout Social scheduling software to maintain an organized and up-to-date content calendar.

·Take projects from research, storyboard and creative stages to production and post-production stages.

·Collaborate with site managers and leaders at MIC to coordinate photo and video sessions to prevent disruption in our clinics during operational hours.

·Occasionally capture photos or video at MIC events or sponsored activities which may fall outside of typical work hours (ex. spring BBQ, annual radiologist update conference, semi-annual physician education events, etc.). Overtime or time-in-lieu will be provided for these events.

·Consistently audit social media content to ensure consistent branding across platforms.

·Monitor and respond to online messages, comments, and engagement across all platforms.

·Create quarterly reports on social media and brand engagement to share with the Marketing Specialist.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

·Post-secondary education in marketing, graphic design, digital media or communications is considered an asset

·2-4+ years of relevant experience (social media, video creation, graphic design, etc.)

·Strong knowledge of organic content creation on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, & Instagram (experience with TikTok or YouTube is considered an asset)

·Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (one or more of: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

·Basic video content knowledge (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Audition, After Effects, or similar)

·Photography skills are considered an asset

·Excellent copywriting and editing skills; demonstrated ability to write engaging content that will capture the attention of the intended audience

·Working knowledge of the Alberta Healthcare landscape is an asset

·Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

·Valid Driver’s License
