Are you an experienced manager or supervisor, with established retail sales experience, looking for your next opportunity. Want to work for a well-established luxury furniture retailer with over 145 years of trading experience and a growing ecommerce presence. We want to hear from you.MPLOY is looking for a full time & permanent Showroom Manager to join one of our highly valued clients in Dorchester, Dorset.Why should you be interested.


  • Full time work with a 5 out of 7 pattern planned via rota. Expect frequent Saturdays with hours of work from 0830hrs to 1730hrs daily.
  • Financial support for candidates relocating, details available upon request.
  • 28 days of annual leave per year, including Bank Holidays.
  • An opportunity where no formal qualifications are a necessity. Our client would look to develop you via in-house training, including manufacturer training in London, Norway etc.
  • A fully paid workplace pension scheme where our client will pay the full 8% contribution, post probation period. Our client’s offer equates to an annual saving of £1,500 to £2,000 per annum.

  • An annual salary of £30,000 to £40,000, subject to experience.
  • An uncapped percentage-based commission scheme based on ‘delivered sales’, further details available on request.

  • Can build productive relationships. Outside of looking after customers & staff expect to build relationships with our client’s suppliers’ reps & head office staff.
  • Is experienced in handling customer complaints delicately with an innate ability to manage outcomes in a manner beneficial to all parties.
  • Has a good sense of humour and can remain calm when it all goes wrong!
  • Is a people person, leader & trainer. Expect to drive sales staff performance in furniture & ‘add-on’ sales by mentoring, motivating & role modelling. You’ll be an effective communicator with superb interpersonal skills. Ensuring fairness across the sales team is also of import and experience in managing a sales team will be highly valued by our client.
  • Is an experienced retail manager or supervisor with established consultative sales experience. Ideally you’ve managed a small team, circa 3 to 4 reports, and have a background in high value FMCG sales. Expect to manage our client’s showrooms whilst offering competition topping customer service.
  • Is system savvy. Working with the Microsoft Office package won’t phase you and expect to learn new systems such as our clients’ Swan Furniture Retail system. You’ll also be confident using modern telephone systems.
  • Can think strategically. Although driving sales is important to our client also expect to ensure sales team members are communicative, proactive & generally helpful to customers. Expect to instil a culture of keeping customers up to date on lead times & delivery dates in post.
  • Has extensive experience in manging stock, visual merchandising & delivering promotions.
  • Has a genuine self-belief and a positive demeanour. You’ll be a real team player obsessed by building the best team possible.
  • Has an exact attention to detail and an eye for accuracy. In post, expect to keep accurate records of sales, stock & customer data.
