We are modernizing the oldest industry in human civilization. This is life-defining work that impacts tens-of-thousands of farmers, and we’re growing. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to help us continue building out our platform. We take a very considered approach to hiring. We’re a small team and we don’t hire very often.

About the role

We are seeking to add a senior software developer to our core team of 5 developers. This position is in-office in Saskatoon. This position requires a strong programming foundation (we use a lot of Ruby and Dart, but believe that good programmers can work in any language). You will be working on mobile, web and backend development.

Things you could work on:

• Reviewing pull requests
• Writing tests and fixing bugs in our code (we invest heavily in test automation)
• Shipping new features to enhance our core product
• Helping us scale our platform (currently running around 50rps)
• Helping our support team with technical issues
• Enhancing our APIs (internal and external)
• Deploying code to production

About you

Comfortable having an outsized impact on the product.

Have already defeated several major technical challenges in your career.

Thrive working individually or on very small teams.

Able to deliver on ambitious projects.

Interest or experience with one or more of the following:

• Mobile app development (iOS, Android, Flutter)
• NoSQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Google Big Query
• Ruby on Rails web applications (full-stack)
• Knowledgeable in Agile software development lifecycle
• Running production grade web applications (we love Heroku)
• Cross platform desktop development

Experience building and maintaining complex systems at scale.

You are resourceful and a problem solver, have a strong solution centric mindset.

Stay calm under pressure.

BS in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
