Senior Mainframe Developer Jobs

We are searching for just the right developer to expand our Mainframe division! We are looking for someone who has programming experience, detail oriented and willing to learn the mainframe computing world and languages.
The Application Software Developer is accountable for the analysis, design, development, implementation and support of applications, in support of the Lines of Business strategies.
Some Specific Functions of This Role:

• Contributes to successful completion of project deliverables
• Interested in continuous learning and staying current with technology in the mainframe domain and banking trends
• Understands the implications of various components (including technology strategy & architecture) to the overall design of a program, system, or eco-system.
• Leads in development, testing and implementation of mid-size to large initiatives
• Provides support and coaching to team members and application support analyst
• Solves complex system problems through detailed investigation and piecing together intricacy of system and application details
• Participates in project and team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments as appropriate
• Writes high quality and well-documented code according to accepted standards based on user requirements
• Writes, configures, and integrates code to create the software that aligns with architecture patterns and technology strategy.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of the banking/financial industry is an asset
• Solid understanding of SDLC and QA requirements
• Thorough in-depth knowledge of design and analysis methodology and application development processes from both an industry and BMO perspective
• Willingness to learn High Level Assembler language
• Experience with z/OS, JCL, CICS, MVS, DB2 would be an asset
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Demonstrated success in working productively with business clients, developer peers, and technical specialists such as architects and DBAs
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving
• 5 - 10 years systems analysis and programming experience with extensive business knowledge
