The role:
Our LLVM based, world class compiler technology is the backbone of the SiFive software stack that enables SiFive high-performance Linux-capable cores and SiFive Intelligence processors. The compiler team's mission is to deliver cutting-edge performance in SiFive products while working with the community to advance RISC-V architecture and ISA extensions. SiFive is an active participant in the RISC-V ecosystem that opens a vast opportunity to develop the next generation of computer architecture and compiler technology. SiFive engineers are active members and maintainers in many open source projects, and our mission is to work with and drive the RISC-V ecosystem.
We are looking for a senior LLVM compiler team member with proven experience in LLVM auto-vectorization. The candidate should demonstrate a track record in cross-team collaboration and in delivering high quality compiler products.
Responsibilities:
- Work with SiFive’s compiler and release teams to release compiler toolchains for use by SiFive teams and customers
- Work with SiFive’s LLVM compiler, library, and architecture teams to improve performance for SiFive CPUs and vector processors
- Analyze C/C++ programs and performance results and suggest new VLA vectorization analyses and optimizations
Requirements:
- Expertise in dependence analyses, vector transformations and code generation
- 7+ years of compiler development experience including 4+ years of experience in LLVM with focus in auto-vectorization
- You should have strong interpersonal skills and be capable of leading and influencing others in the organization
- Proficient in compiler design, vector processors, and ISA vector extensions
- Excellent hands-on C++ programming skills applied to industry standard C++ compilers
- Good communication and documentation skills and self-motivated
- M.S. or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Compensation Range:
$166,600-$225,400
