Position Overview
Participate in creating the next Autodesk Platform for the Media and Entertainment industry. Utilizing an Autodesk cloud-based toolset supporting production pipelines in Film, VFX, and Game industries, we envision a future in which the Film, VFX, and Game industries operate more effectively and with greater creative agility. This is an opportunity to utilize your skills as you help us impact the productivity of hundreds of Studios while learning leading edge practices and technologies.
As part of the "Production Tracking - ShotGrid" team, you will help improve how major customers like Netflix, ILM (Industrial Light & Magic ), Epic, Weta, and Warner Brothers track their productions (VFX, Games, 3D animation, etc.) using our Emmy-winning product, ShotGrid. You will also help us to evolve toward using micro services on our future M&E (Media and Entertainment) platform, using state-of-the-art technologies. If you want to become an expert in full stack development, this team is for you! You won't find many opportunities like this one.
Location : any location in Canada remote but you are welcome to work at the Montreal or Toronto office with your colleagues.
Responsibilities

• Comfortable with working in both the back-end and front-end sides of our application

• Excited at learning and increasing our React footprint in the front-end side

Minimum Qualifications

• On the back-end: any language like Ruby that confirms you are a strong back-end developer
• 10+ years of professional experience as a developer with SaaS
• Ability to learn quickly and to adapt to frequent change
• Experience with applying Agile software development methodologies
• Written and verbal communication skills in English (and verbal skills in French for any location in Quebec)
• Must be willing to pivot regularly and accept/execute a wide variety of projects
• On the front-end: strong knowledge of the Javascript language along with HTML/CSS (Or you are a strong back-end dev and JavaScript does not scare you)
• Experience with revision control systems (GitHub)
• Development experience on Mac
• Ability to communicate effectively and to collaborate across organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Development experience in large software applications
• Strong experience with Ruby is an interesting bonusExperience with React programming
• Experience with ES6+ versions of Javascript
• Experience with other languages such as: Python
• Experience in libraries and component services development (Cloud)
• 3 + years of ShotGrid production experience (bonus: Film, VFX or Games pipeline)

Responsabilités

• Adopter les normes élevées d'excellence en matière d'ingénierie
• Transformer une application classique en un ensemble de micro-services
• Se tenir au courant des tendances de l'industrie technologique, des meilleures pratiques, des normes et des méthodologies
• Travailler au sein d'une équipe collaborative d'ingénieur(e)s, de concepteur(trice)s et de gestionnaires de produits
• Passionné(e) par la résolution de problèmes
• Être motivé(e) à l’idée de satisfaire les clients
• Apprendre et augmenter notre empreinte React du côté du « front-end »
• Traiter tous les aspects de la programmation de logiciels, y compris la performance et la sécurité
• À l'aise avec le travail à la fois sur le « back-end » et le « front-end » de notre application

Exigences minimales

• Capacité à communiquer efficacement et à collaborer avec d’autres organisations
• Sur le « back-end » : forte expérience sur un langage backend tel que Ruby qui confirme votre compétence en développement backend
• Expérience en développement sur Mac
• 10 ans (ou plus) d’expérience professionnelle en tant que développeur(se) avec SaaS
• Être prêt(e) à travailler sur une grande variété de mandats
• Compétences écrites et orales en anglais (et orales en français pour le Québec)
• Capacité à apprendre rapidement et à s’adapter à des changements fréquents
• Expérience avec les systèmes de contrôle de révision (GitHub)
• Expérience avec l’application des méthodologies de développement logiciel Agile
• Sur le « front-end » : solide connaissance du langage Javascript ainsi que des langages HTML et CSS (ou vous êtes un expert du « back-end » qui saurait très bien se débrouiller avec le « front-end » et JavaScript!)

Compétences souhaitées

• Forte expérience de programmation Ruby, un atout intéressant
• Expérience avec les versions ES6+ de Javascript
• 3 ans + d'expérience avec Shotgrid en production de film, VFX ou création de jeu vidéo serait un atout
• Expérience avec la programmation React
• Expérience dans le développement de librairies et de services de composants (Infonuagiques)
• Expérience avec d’autres langages de programmation tels que Python
• Expérience dans le domaine du développement d'applications logicielles de grande ampleur
