Senior Automation Specialist Jobs

As an Intermediate/Senior Automation Specialist within our Calgary office, you will excel in a multi-faceted role supporting our clients in the Automation Solutions space. You will be pivotal in solving our customers’ business problems using your creativity and technical expertise to create, design and implement innovative control system solutions. Ultimately, you will provide superior client experiences partnering with your internal team to cohesively deliver a vision, energy, and intensity that exceeds client expectations.

What would a typical day look like?

• Attend client field service and emergency calls
• Participate in planning sessions that will identify industry business drivers and trends that will serve as the basis for developing key offerings to our clients
• Technically, Automation Specialists will work on various stages of automation and control projects including PLC programming, HMI design, SCADA system design, electrical design and troubleshooting/testing/debugging

What qualifies you for this opportunity?

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A strong client-focused approach, dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences to our internal and external customers.
• Motivated & passionate about working with people and overcoming challenges through collaboration and a win-win paradigm
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent qualifications preferred.
• An ability to travel; Controls Specialists at JMP should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada
• A proven self-starter with a positive, “can-do” attitude who is motivated by solving complex challenges.
• Ideally 8+ years of industry experience with: PLC Programming: Primarily Allen-Bradley, Schneider; HMI/SCADA Design: Primarily Allen-Bradley, Schneider; Commissioning at customer sites; Troubleshooting/Testing/Debugging
