Security Guard - Hmcs Discovery

Commissionaires BC is currently looking for security guards with a passion for customer service to work at the HMCS Discovery.

We have various full time shifts available:

• Monday to Friday 3pm-11pm

Some of your responsibilities include:

• Controlling access to DISCOVERY by people and vehicles;
• Conducting security and fire patrols during silent hours;
• Maintaining the log book IAW instructions provided;
• Securing gate when guard house is not manned;
• Conducting basic public relations.
• Reporting all noteworthy incidents to Facility Manager, Site Supervisor and Commissionaires Management.
• Keeping Commissionaires Operations / Management aware of major incidents on Site.
• Answering the main gate’s telephone;
• Reporting any unauthorized activities to Site Supervisor and Facility Manager;
• Checking both land-line and cell phone voice mails;
• Checking computer for e-mails and for unit calendar updates;
• Maintaining control of keys and ensuring the key log book is completed correctly; and

Your Must – Haves …

• OFA 1 Certificate
• Valid BC Security Licence
• Been resident in Canada for a minimum of 5 years for Government Clearance eligibility

• Proficient with Microsoft Office, and equipment such as faxes and photocopiers
