As a Scientist in our Pluripotent Stem Cell group within the Research and Development department, your creative mindset, combined with your deep technical knowledge of genome engineering will be utilized to identify emerging technologies and develop novel products.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a scientific ambassador of the company to promote the STEMCELL brand and mission
  • Responsible for the assigned product line(s), including performance criteria, research and quality design, product launch, and technical support
  • Build collaborative relationships with colleagues across tissue teams and departments, present to cross functional teams across the department, and adapt communication styles to specific audiences and situations
  • Independently design and execute experiments, analyze data, perform literature reviews, and prepare scientific documents
  • Use knowledge of genetic engineering technologies to propose new products, and apply creative approaches to generate intellectual property and perform competitor analysis
Knowledge And Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using genetic engineering technologies (such as CRISPR/Cas9, Prime and Base editing) to generate gene edited iPSC lines is required, with expertise developing and/or optimizing new gene editing technologies highly desired
  • Understanding of current genome engineering methodologies and challenges, as well as the ability to learn and apply scientific knowledge to a new field, further contributing to scientific discussions
  • Practical experience designing and executing genome engineering strategies including knowledge of design parameters for gRNAs, HDR templates and nucleases is required
  • Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, communicate with key opinion leaders and customers, and provide supervision to junior colleagues
  • PhD with 0-2 years of postdoc or industry experience, or Msc with 4-6 years industry experience
