Job Summary

• This position requires the operation of a company vehicle.
• Responsible for verifying incoming shipments, and ensuring the accuracy of goods matching shipping documents and purchase orders.
• Pick and pack goods, develop shipping labels and documents, and ensure that all orders have been picked and packed correctly.
• Responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received.
• Also, responsible for making deliveries as needed.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities

• Inspects and verifies incoming goods against purchase orders or other documents, records shortages, and rejects damaged goods.
• Contacts transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace, or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.
• Services customers via telephone and/or walk-ins and ensures counters are properly stocked. Interacts with customers, vendors, and associates to resolve customer-related and service-related issues.
• Maintains internal record-keeping systems
• Determines the method of shipment and prepares all required and supporting documentation. Ensures timely shipment of materials and customer satisfaction.
• Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips and assists with unloading.
• Ensures the area is secure at all times.
• Acts as a liaison between warehouse and customers;
• Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelves.
• Affixes barcodes, tags, and security tags, and may operate forklifts, hand trucks, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
• Picks and packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.
• Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks, and routes goods to appropriate storage areas.
• Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise

Nature And Scope

• Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor.
• Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
• Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor.
• None.
• Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instructions.
• Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment.

Work Environment

• Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment.
• No travel required.
• Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
• Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.

Education And Experience

• HS Diploma or GED is strongly preferred. 0-2 years of experience in area of responsibility.
