Job Description
Safety Line Coordinators will work in the new SHA (Saskatoon) Safety Centre currently being developed. Coordinators take calls from employees, physicians, patients and families regarding all safety related incidents, injuries, incidents, near misses and exposures. The Coordinators are responsible for ensuring comprehensive detailed incident and medical information is gathered and the data entered into the relevant database(s) to allow trending and to meet legislative reporting requirements. The Coordinators work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders managing the safety incidents and immediate responses. Job Qualifications Required Qualifications Diploma in Business Administration or a related field Experience Three years of office administrative or other relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to accept and implement change Ability to manage change - to develop implement and monitor processes and operations Ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure Ability to remain calm and focused during peak periods of activity, deadlines and stress and ensure deadlines are met Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to work well under pressure Advanced computer skills Analytical skills Exceptional written and oral communication skills Interpersonal skills Additional Information SHIFT WORK - 12 HOURS 0700-1900 AND 1900-0700 Comprehensive knowledge of SHR services and organizational relationships. Knowledge of relevant legislation. Must be comfortable working independently with lots of phone and on-line interaction and able to complete assignments on-time without extensive supervision. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employees, patients and families and various internal and external stakeholders. Able to manage and resolve conflict. JOB SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES THAT APPLY TO THIS POSITION: 1. Talk/coach reporters through the reporting process, ensuring all appropriate information is documented according to the processes developed for each type of incident 2. Appropriately triage and refer each incident as necessary for immediate response/follow-up 3. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.
