Roofer Jobs

Matrix is currently hiring multiple full-time & part-time positions for roofing labourers for Kitimat BC. In this role, candidates will be reporting to the Assigned Project Manager and the Regional Construction Manager and will be responsible for supporting Roofers with roof maintenance including installing, repairing and replacing a variety of high-quality roofing systems.

Pay Rate: $24 - $29 (based on exp) / $32 for ticketed Journeyperson candidates

Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 7am to 5pm

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe work practices when working at heights.
• Support Roofers with tasks as needed, including but not limited to: installation, repairs and replacement of various types of roofing systems.
• Participate and adhere to all company safety protocols while using appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when applicable.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean work area by organizing tools & equipment, set up ladders and scaffolds for bringing supplies to the roof surfaces and taking down materials and tools from work trucks, as directed.
• Responsible for handing and supplying materials or tools during projects.
• Support the removal of old roofing applications and prepare roofs with new roofing materials.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable and responsible with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset.
• Previous experience as a labourer; roofing labourer experience is considered an asset
• Ability to work independently & be a self-starter while also collaborating with management, clients and employees.

Working Conditions

• May be required to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
• May be required to operate equipment or machinery.
• May be required to lift/move loads up to 50lbs.
• May be required to work outside of normal working hours on occasion to meet deadlines.
• Must be willing to work at heights while adhering to safety protocols.

Please note: Candidates must be local to the area of Terrace BC / Kitimat BC or reasonable commuting distance.
