This role sits within Laurentian Bank Securities, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.


The incumbent will provide discount brokerage services to clients. He or she will trade a vast range of financial products: equities, options, bonds, stripped coupons/residual bonds, money markets, mutual funds, structured financial products, etc. Denominated in Canadian and/or U.S. currency, these products will be accessible to the incumbent either through exchange order execution systems that he or she will be responsible for understanding or through the dealer’s online inventories. The incumbent’s knowledge of various financial products will be just as important as his or her ability to understand the related technology. He or she will ensure that rules, procedures and policies established by Laurentian Bank Discount Brokerage, IIROC and all other regulatory organizations are applied, followed and explained.


Responsibilities


º Maintain high-quality customer service standards (transactional and administrative aspects) º Carry out transactions made over the phone by clients


º Authorize online transactions when necessary


º Ensure creditworthiness and credit before all transactions


º Apply regulatory verifications before all transactions


º Participate in the process of account opening


º Manage client internet access


º Oversee fund movement


º Resolve any client questions and issues effectively with the participation of the administrative support staff


º Simplify and apply all the rules and procedures established by IIROC and the firm


º Participate in developing the firm with the support of various stakeholders (LBC branch networks, clients, staff, etc.)


º Contribute to the continuous improvement of services offered to clients º Perform all similar or related tasks


Qualifications


º Bachelor’s degree in administration, finance or economics and three years’ brokerage experience or any other relevant combination of education and experience


º Excellent overall customer service skills


º The successful completion of the following CSI courses is required:


º Canadian Securities Course (CSC) º Conduct and Practices Handbook Course


º Options Licensing Course, or the intent to complete it within three months


º The incumbent must have a valid IIROC licence or have had a valid licence within the last two years


º Proficiency with Windows environment and Excel and Word software programs


º Fluent in French and English
