Job Description
Position Summary


As a Registered Nurse/Immunization Nurse you will be meeting with clients one-on-one and provide travel counseling, vaccinations, medications, and general travel health advice to travelers going abroad. The Immunization Nurse will review each client’s medical history and discuss the Centre for Disease Control & Prevention’s requirements and/or recommendations for safe travel to countries such as Kenya, India, Peru, Thailand and more!


Job Duties


  • Practice appropriate storage and handling of vaccines, includes but not limited to carrying and lifting vaccine boxes.
  • Responsible for organization and maintenance of clinic space to facilitate smooth client flow.
  • Utilize proper travel medicine and general medicine processes to provide immunizations and travel health counseling in a safe and effective manner.
  • Carrying and organizing clinic supplies.
  • Ensures the clinic and storage room is clean and well organized.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Management Team to train new staff.
  • Demonstrate outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Diligently participate in the company’s training to ensure up to date knowledge of travel medicine and vaccination.
  • May be responsible for meeting and unpacking packages, vaccines, furniture and fixtures during clinic set up.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Provide friendly, efficient, and safe service to patients and clients.
  • Adhere to safety protocols as set by the company’s medical directives and regulations.
  • Accepting delivered packages and ensure all inventory is accounted for.


Qualifications And Skills


  • Must be willing to travel to other clinics in the city including (Richmond, Burnaby, Downtown Vancouver and Surrey).
  • Previous experience working in travel Medicine, either in a private clinic or Public Health setting is an asset.
  • Flexible and able to communicate using a mobile device.
  • Ability to follow Medical Directives in order to safely administer vaccines and dispense medications to comply with the CARNA and the Passport Health Standard of Care.
  • One year experience with travel medicine and clinic experience is preferred.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks without detailed supervision.
  • Access to a vehicle is preferred.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to communicate effectively with corporate clients.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and self-directed environment.
  • Registered Nurse certification with current license in good standing.
  • First Aid/CPR certified.


Working conditions


  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting patients.
  • Moves and restructures organization of storage room to make space for new inventory
  • Ensures the clinic and storage room is clean and well organized.
