We are seeking several experienced and knowledgeable Real Estate Lawyers to join our growing Firm. As a Real Estate Lawyer, you will play a vital role in providing crucial services for the journey of our client and staff experience.
The Firm has developed an inclusive and supportive environment that provides autonomy to its Lawyers and encourages them to expand their knowledge base and practice and provides the support to do so.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiate and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal instruments related to real estate matters.
- Stay up-to-date with real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide accurate and effective legal advice.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on various real estate transactions, including property purchases, sales, leasing, and financing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, demonstrating exceptional client service and professionalism.
- Collaborate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth and successful transactions.
- Identify and resolve legal issues, risks, and obstacles related to real estate transactions.
- Conduct thorough due diligence, including title searches, zoning and land use analysis, and review of property surveys and environmental reports.
- Review and draft legal documents, such as purchase agreements, lease agreements, mortgage documents, and title opinions.
- Represent clients in real estate transactions, negotiations, and disputes, including litigation, if necessary.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong Business Development Skills
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- In Good Standing with the LSO
- Called to the Ontario Bar
- Sound knowledge of real estate laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Book of Business considered and Asset
- Ability to handle multiple complex matters simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- 5+ years of experience managing a Residential Real Estate book of business
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
