React Developer Jobs

Our Calgary-based partner requires the need of a React Developer that will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of two major applications within the Land space.

The focus of this role is supporting one application as it transitions to production and co-developing on another building project. The objective is to create scalable and optimized next-generation software systems for Land space in the Oil and Gas industry. Prior domain knowledge, or highly motivated to gain necessary domain familiarity.

This role will be collaborating with data professionals, industry experts, and other developers – communication with the greater team is paramount in development success and necessary for this position. Seeking someone with project management skills related to project vision, understanding the needs/wants of the stakeholders, and being an active participant in associated meetings as projects grow or change.

Responsibilities:

• Implement development and design systems that enable the next generation of IT services, in collaboration with team members
• Effectively collaborate with the business and development teams to understand and aid stakeholders in establishing and achieving the goals
• Participate as a member of a project team to develop innovative, high-quality solutions
• Support integrations of the solutions into production environments, and provide production support post handoff
• Monitor the health, reliability, and performance of implemented solutions, detecting issues quickly and driving quality improvement over time
• Participate in requirements analysis; help design solutions based on the system requirements

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Oil and Gas Operations nice to have (Upstream/Exploration)
• Technology-first mindset, analytical skills, and a drive for innovation
• Familiar with standard libraries/packages in both React (AG Grid necessary) and Python
• Familiarity with CI/CD (Git, Azure DevOps)
• Strong Communication (written and verbal)
• Ability to adhere to and enforce IT department processes, standards, and controls on security, change management, and transition to production
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Relational Databases and SQL
• Outstanding problem-solving skills with a proactive approach toward projects
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI/Spotfire)
• Proficient in ReactJS and Python
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a collaborative team
• Willingness to try/learn new things, fail fast, and learn fast
