Position: EMDR Therapist for Intensive Trauma Treatment Program

Are you a skilled and experienced therapist seeking an advanced clinical position to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals struggling with trauma? Trauma Resolution Centre is an intensive outpatient trauma treatment centre located in Peterborough Ontario and will be opening in Fall 2023. We are looking for a skilled, dedicated, and compassionate therapist to join our team and provide intensive trauma treatment using EMDR and other trauma resolution therapies.

The Trauma Resolution Centre is proud to offer four distinct treatment streams, and we are currently seeking passionate individuals to fill positions across all these intensives:

1. Stabilization Intensives: For individuals requiring enhanced symptom stabilization before delving into intensive trauma treatment. This includes those with elevated dissociation levels or individuals needing extra support to stay within their window of tolerance.

2. Individual Intensives: These encompass a broad spectrum of trauma-related mental health concerns, ranging from single-episode trauma to complex PTSD, panic disorders, Operational Stress Injury, and more.

3. First Responders: An exclusive stream tailored specifically for first responders, addressing their unique trauma experiences and needs.

4. Couples: A dedicated stream focusing on couples, providing them with intensive treatment in a supportive therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities:

·Deliver intensive treatment for individuals over 1-5 consecutive days, involving 3-6 hours of therapy each day, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns.

·Conduct pre and post and follow-up sessions and psychometrics

·Assist clients in stabilizing trauma symptoms within the Stabilization Intensives stream, using Phase 1 approaches and/or Neurofeedback when applicable.

·Conduct comprehensive assessments and tailor personalized treatment plans, utilizing a phased model for trauma resolution.

·Apply diverse trauma resolution therapies, such as EMDR, Flash, Internal Family Systems, Ego-state therapies, motivational interviewing, hypnosis, or other evidence-based approaches.

·Foster a nurturing therapeutic relationship to support healing and growth.

·Attend consultation meetings.

Qualifications:

·Possess a Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or other related fields.

·Hold valid registration in good standing with your respective regulatory College.

·Maintain professional liability insurance for the province of Ontario.

·Exhibit competence in addressing a wide spectrum of mental health concerns in adults.

·Demonstrate practical experience in the specific intensive stream you are applying for (e.g., First Responders /Veterans, Couples).

·Possess advanced EMDR training beyond Basic Training

·If applying for Couples Intensives, the applicant must possess additional training in couples’ therapy.

·Additional training in therapies such as Internal Family Systems, Ego-state, attachment, cognitive therapies, motivational interviewing, hypnosis, and other trauma resolution techniques are assets.

·Work proficiently within the established policies and procedures of the Trauma Resolution Centre.

·Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
