Job Description

Prairie Hill Farms Ltd. is a growing food and beverage manufacturing facility established in 2020. It’s a family owned business located in Picture Butte, north of Lethbridge. They grow and process haskap berries and offer co-packing services to other local businesses. In order to support its mission, Prairie Hill Farms is looking for a competent Production Supervisor to help with organisation and running of the daily production operations of the company.


The ideal candidate should have the initiative to work, possess a desire to learn and grow, should be hardworking, friendly, punctual and have an open-minded attitude. The supervisor should have a minimum of two years in a food production facility, with experience leading and managing other workers.


Key Responsibilities


  • Check production output according to specifications
  • Enforce strict safety and quality guidelines that meet company standards
  • Setting daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicating them to employees
  • Being the primary contact for immediate production issues
  • Maintain production records ensuring accuracy and validity of information
  • Monitor level of supplies and handle shortages – inventory control
  • Organising workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
  • Submit reports on performance and progress
  • Overseeing and coaching employees
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
  • Maintain trusting relationships with suppliers, and colleagues


Qualifications


  • Outgoing, positive, and enjoy collaborating with people.
  • Knowledge of GMP and HACCP
  • Above average computer & math skills
  • Supervisor experience
  • Must have been employed for at least 2 years in a food facility or equivalent
  • Legally able and currently documented to work full time hours in Canada.
  • High school diploma
  • Well-developed communication skills in English at a fluent or professional level; able to be assertive and respectful

  • Excellent leadership abilities
  • Proficient skills in MS Office
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Proven experience in a production facility with supervision roles or equivalent
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools


Assets


  • Post-Secondary Education: Diploma or Degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field will be an advantage
