Goodkey Show Services Ltd. is one of the leading General Contractors in the Edmonton area that services Tradeshows throughout Canada! We operate heavily within Edmonton, Red Deer, and Vancouver. We offer a large variety of products and services that require hands-on work.
As the Lead Printer Operator, you will be working in the Production Area. You will be the lead in printing that uses various materials such as PVC foam board and corrugated plastic on a large flatbed printer while leading the Production Team by delegating duties to assist with production output. The job is a mix of computer work, walking, standing, bending, lifting, and moving large pieces and quantities of material. It requires heavy and constant communication with other departments and upper management within the company to meet harsh deadlines and coordinate production timelines. It's a very fast paced and high pressure environment which requires you to think, decide, and act quickly.
The typical work week is Monday - Friday 8AM-4:30PM with on call weekend and overtime hours as part of the job.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with other departments and upper management
- Lead a team by organizing and assigning duties
- Inspect random production samples to evaluate quality of printings
- Perform basic repairs on printers if needed
- Review requests to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs
- Determine quantities required for print jobs
- Reorganize/adapt timelines to meet harsh deadlines or last minute changes
- Draft and submit reports for daily production output
- Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed to operate printing machines
- Align and configure printing machinery
- Maintain a clean working area around printing machinery
- Create and foresee timelines on upcoming print projects
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot printing machines

Education and Experience
- WHMIS certification (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with HP Latex 360 and HP Scitex FB500 printer (preferred)
- Experience with ONYX Thrive (preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Physically able to operate printing machines
- Lifting up to 25 lbs. at a time
- Able to lift, bend, and kneel
