Title : PowerBI Developer

Location : Regina SK, Canada (Onsite)

Term : Long Term Contact /Fulltime/Permanent

s Below:

• Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a senior role in Power BI including using SharePoint as a data source with complex columns in use (people, managed metadata, lookup columns). Relevant experience to be within the last two (2) years.
• Skills and Experiences:
• Strong working knowledge of data visualization options, including visualizations appropriate for leadership consumption
• Working knowledge implementing row-level security in Power BI

Soft Skills: The Power BI Developer resource must have the following soft skills to ensure that performance requirements meet SaskTel's expectations. This is not a complete list and SaskTel reserves the right to consider other skills if/when resources are interviewed for specific project requirements.

• Strong team and task management skills
• Must have exceptional interpersonal, team-player, and documentation skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, easy to understand
• Detail oriented and well-organized; must be able to manage multiple assignments with staggered deadlines

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Software knowledge requirement:

Power BI Developer resource(s) shall have knowledge and experience with the following Software applications or platforms, but not limited to:

• Oracle databases as data source
• Data Modeling and Data Warehousing Concepts
• On-premises data gateways
• Power BI Service
• Power BI Desktop
• Power Query
• DAX
• Dataflows
• SQL databases as data source
• SharePoint as data source

Some of the other data sources that may be used to build the reporting are:

• SAP
• ServiceNow
• Salesforce

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and debug issues with Power BI reports and dashboards
• Design and develop business intelligence solutions using on-premises and cloud data sources using the Power BI platform
• Work with data scientist and database administrators to design and implement data models that support the business intelligence solutions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements
• Train and support business users on how to use the Power BI solutions effectively
• Ensure data accuracy and quality by implementing appropriate data validation and cleansing techniques
• Develop and maintain documentation for the business intelligence solutions
• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations
• Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and best practices
• Optimize reports and data loads for increased performance and scalability
• Writing business requirements, technical specifications, documentation, and user guides on developed products
• Develop dataflows to centralize data preparation
