Job Overview:
The PLC Programmer is responsible for designing and developing control programs for electrical machines and systems and commissioning of new equipment. We are looking to add someone to our team who is efficient, can navigate logical processes, and continuous learning independently or in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for integration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiency
  • Meet with Project managers to discuss project requirements and timelines
  • Work with Senior Programmer on scheduling all programming activities
  • Work in a safe manner & adhere to all safety policies & procedures
  • Modify control panel wiring as required
  • Develop new programs and modify existing programs/systems to meet customer design requirements.
  • In accordance with company policy/ESA; overtime, work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the company
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Development & support of PLC, HMI and Graphics programs
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation / PLC breakdowns
  • Setup and commission communication networks (Ethernet IP, Fieldbus, RS485, RS232)
Requirements
  • You have experience working with the following platforms... Allen Bradley - SLC and Logix , Automation Direct - Directsoft 5 and Productivity , Omron , Siemens
  • You have experience creating graphical interfaces using - Factory Talk View, C-more, Indusoft
  • You are a straight shooter who gets to the point and can clearly communicate in both oral and written form.
  • You are able to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions, cope effectively with complexity and change, quickly understand and absorb new information and respond appropriately
  • You operate with a team spirit, not with ego; you want everyone, including yourself, to do their best work; you see your success as dependent on the success of the team
  • Preference given to a Licensed Electrician with 2 years PLC programming experience or graduate of Robotics and Automation Technology program.
  • You have a get it done attitude and are skilled at removing barriers
  • You have the ability to think beyond the needs of the customer to point out errors and potential issues
